The board of directors, “The AFRALTI Governing Council”, comprises representatives from the AFRALTI member states. The member states are represented through their regulatory bodies.
The Director
 Mr. Vusumuzi Nimrod Mkhumane is the Director of AFRALTI. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Administration. Mr. Mkhumane is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Ontario, Canada and also a Chartered Accountant (CA), Swaziland.
He has over 15 years experience in organization leadership having been a managing director and board member of one of the regional telecommunication operators. He has also previously held senior management positions in areas of accounting and finance.
Administration & Finance Officer - Mr. Dennis Legamoi heads the Administration and Finance unit, he holds a master of Business Administration and has many years of experince in finance and administration.
Strategic business units
AFRALTI has four strategic business units namely, Access Networks, Digital Technology and Management Information Systems, Network planning and Training coordination and marketing.
Head of Access Networks - Mr Jared Baraza heads the Access Networks unit and holds a Masters in Engineering, Diploma in management and an Advanced Diploma in Wireless Networking. He has more than twenty years of experience as a telecommunications engineer and he has also lectured at university level.
Head of Network Planning - Mr Mohammed Noorani is the head of Network Planning. He holds a BSc. Degree in Electrical, and C.Eng. He has over 20 years experience in Telecommunications (Switching ,Transmission, Data communications), Tariffs, Traffic and Cost Accounting as well as lecturing.
Head of Training and Marketing - Ms. Josephine Towett heads the Training Coordination and Marketing department. Josephine holds an MBA in Marketing and has over 10 years of experience in telecommunications Marketing and ICT market Research.
Head of Digital Technologies & IT - James Makwanda heads the Digital Technology and Management Information Systems department. James holds a MSc Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering from Havana University, underwent two year IEE-accredited Graduate Engineer training programme in Telecommunications and became a Professional Engineer. He has more than 10 years experience in telecommunications especially in LAN and WAN Networking.
Lecturer Data Networks - Mr. Stephen Gachogu teaches in the department of Digital Technology and Management Information Systems. He holds an honours degree of Bachelor of Science in Computing and Information Systems, a Diploma in Information Technology , a Diploma in Technical Education and has over 10 years experience in the ICT industry. Mr Gachogu is CCNA, CCNP and CCAI certified. |
