Course Objectives:
Digital Broadcasting is essential for the modern day broadcaster, Government Information ministries and Communication regulators, TV and radio equipment resellers and even the ordinary TV viewer or radio listener at home. The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) a United Nations Agency based in Geneva has set June 2015 as the deadline for TV stations all over the world to switch over from Analog to Digital transmission of TV Signals.
It is therefore crucial that ICT stake holders and citizens are made to understand the concepts, technology, implications and Regulatory standards of Digital Broadcasting.
Dissemination of the knowledge through training, will enable AFRALTI achieve the above role and thus contribute to the public interest of the citizens in preparing them for transition from Analogue to Digital Broadcasting. The training workshop will create awareness and help the participants formulate better strategies for their networks, make better choices of the technologies and also compare notes with other organizations/companies that have already tested or are in the process of testing these technologies.
Target Group?
The training is designed for Broadcast Engineers and Technicians (dealing with Network Planning, implementation, operations and maintenance), Technical sales and Marketing Personnel, Content providers, Government ICT ministries and Communications Regulators, Broadcast or media training colleges, TV/ Radio equipment resellers and interested consumers of audio visual signals.
What will you learn?
This is a comprehensive, integrated training program which covers key aspects of Digital Broadcasting (Digital TV and Radio, Transmitters, studios and computer applications), Transition technologies and some Broadcasting systems. A tour of some broadcast companies will also be incorporated.

The course is most suited for broadcasting technical personnel all ICT stakeholders and participants in Digital Migration are welcome. Basic knowledge of Communications Principles/systems and broadcasting is important.
