The Emerging and Enabling Technologies course explores the dynamic world of emerging and enabling technologies that are shaping the future across various industries, specifically the Telecommunications Industry. It provides an understanding of the latest advancements and innovations, their potential impact on society, and the opportunities and challenges they present. Students will delve into the following key areas:
(i) Enabling Technologies which covers Big Data; AI; Big Data Analytics; 5G; IoT; SDN Networks; Blockchain Networks; AI and Predictive Applications; Cognitive Software
(ii) Artificial intelligence
(iii) Introduction to big data and big data analytics. Classes will be offered virtually from 9.00am to 1.00pm South African Time
