AFRALTI AND PAPU FORGE AHEAD WITH RENEWED PARTNERSHIP TO POWER AFRICA’S DIGITAL FUTURE

The African Advanced Level Telecommunications Institute (AFRALTI) has renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pan African Postal Union (PAPU), marking a new chapter in their collaboration to advance capacity building, innovation, and harmonized development across the continent’s communications and postal sectors.

The signing of the renewed partnership signals the two institutions’ shared commitment to transform Africa’s ICT and postal landscapes through training, research, knowledge sharing and collaborative projects.

Under the renewed MoU, AFRALTI and PAPU will concentrate on strengthening skills and institutional capacity through joint training programmes, including those at the Capacity Building Centre in Arusha. The two organizations will also co-host high impact events and conferences, foster knowledge exchange through shared access to research and expertise, drive innovation with collaborative studies and pilot projects, and deepen their partnership by actively participating in each other’s meetings and forums across the continent.

Speaking during the signing, Mr. William Baraza, Director of AFRALTI, emphasized the importance of partnerships that directly impact skills and innovation on the continent:

“This renewed partnership reflects AFRALTI’s vision of building a digitally empowered Africa. Through our joint programmes with PAPU, we will ensure that professionals across Africa are equipped with the knowledge, skills and tools to drive innovation and excellence in their organizations. This collaboration opens up new opportunities to strengthen the postal and ICT ecosystem as critical enablers of development.”

On his part, Dr. Sifundo Chief Moyo, Secretary General of PAPU, welcomed the renewed commitment, highlighting the need for harmonized efforts:

“The postal and ICT sectors are evolving rapidly, and no single organization can address these changes in isolation. By working closely with AFRALTI, PAPU aims to empower our member states with cutting-edge skills and strategies to remain relevant and sustainable in the digital era. This MoU is not just an agreement; it is a partnership for transformation across Africa.”

The collaboration will also create a stronger platform for innovation, ensuring that African countries can collectively tackle issues of connectivity, digital inclusion, and service excellence.

Through this partnership, AFRALTI and PAPU are reaffirming their shared mission to build a robust, innovative, and inclusive communications sector that leaves no African country behind.
