AFRALTI DRIVING EXCELLENCE IN TRAINING, RESEARCH AND REGIONAL PARTNERSHIPS

The African Advanced Level Telecommunications Institute (AFRALTI) continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to excellence in capacity building, applied research and policy engagement. As a leading centre of excellence in ICT across the region, AFRALTI prioritises the development of digital skills, innovation and creativity to strengthen Africa’s digital ecosystem.

Through a series of high-impact trainings and technical workshops, AFRALTI is equipping both public and private sector stakeholders with cutting-edge knowledge in cybersecurity, regulatory frameworks, spectrum management, digital transformation strategies and data governance. The Institute’s training model is rooted in practical, industry aligned content delivered by seasoned subject matter experts, ensuring participants gain skills that are relevant and immediately applicable.

Beyond training, AFRALTI plays a pivotal role in advancing ICT related research and policy dialogue. Its contributions to platforms such as the Connected Africa Summit 2025 and Cyber Carnival 2025 reflect its leadership in driving regional harmonisation and thought leadership. These engagements provide a space to share insight on cross-border fibre models, community centred connectivity and the integration of innovation into Africa’s digital development.

AFRALTI’s impact is further enhanced through strong partnerships with governments, regulators, academic institutions, development agencies and civil society. Through collaborations with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), APC, Rhizomatica and others, AFRALTI helps deliver initiatives such as the Blended Training Programme for ICT Network Managers in Indigenous and Rural Communities in Africa. These partnerships extend the Institute’s reach and reinforce its role in empowering communities through technology.

“At AFRALTI, we are intentional about building a digitally capable Africa through high quality training, research and strategic collaboration,” says Mr. William Baraza, Director of AFRALTI. “Our partnerships are rooted in shared values and the belief that Africa’s digital transformation must be inclusive, practical and led by the needs of its people.”

With an ability to adapt to evolving digital realities, AFRALTI remains a trusted partner in the continent’s transformation journey. By fostering innovation, nurturing technical talent and bridging digital knowledge gaps, AFRALTI continues to empower professionals and institutions to thrive in an increasingly connected world.
