BUILDING THE FUTURE THROUGH DIGITAL INNOVATION ECOSYSTEMS
AFRALTI, in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the European Union (EU Global Gateway), successfully delivered the online, instructor-led course “Digital Innovation Ecosystems: Building the Future.”
Over four weeks, 30 participants from 28 countries immersed themselves in the dynamic world of digital innovation ecosystems. Guided by insights from the accompanying book Digital Innovation Ecosystems, the course provided a comprehensive understanding of the key components, players, and trends shaping these environments.
Participants explored how to identify ecosystem actors and their roles, harness digital technologies to drive innovation, and design strategies for building and managing successful ecosystems. The course blended theory with practical frameworks, empowering participants to translate lessons into actionable approaches for their organizations and communities.
By the end of the programme, participants had strengthened their capacity to foster innovation, support entrepreneurship, and contribute to thriving digital economies. The course highlighted the importance of collaboration between governments, private sector, academia, and civil society in building ecosystems that accelerate inclusive digital transformation.
For AFRALTI, facilitating this programme reaffirmed its role as a regional hub for advanced ICT training and research, bridging global expertise with Africa’s priorities. The training also underscored the power of international partnerships to equip professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to shape the future of digital innovation.
