EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES TRAINING ADVANCES DIGITAL INNOVATION ACROSS CONTINENTS
Leaders and professionals from 17 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America gathered in Nairobi for the Emerging Technologies and Digital Innovation Training, hosted at AFRALTI’s Main Campus.
Supported by the European Union Global Gateway and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the programme reflected a shared global commitment to advancing innovation, connectivity, and inclusive digital transformation.
The training offered more than technical knowledge. It provided participants with practical insights and strategic approaches to harnessing emerging technologies for Africa’s growth. Topics ranged from the integration of AI, IoT, and 5G into national development strategies to strengthening digital ecosystems that can fuel entrepreneurship, job creation, and smarter governance.
Equally important, the sessions highlighted the human dimension of technology: the need to build resilient digital infrastructure, ensure that innovation is inclusive and accessible, and design policies that safeguard sovereignty while fostering collaboration.
Beyond classroom learning, the programme created a platform for cross-regional dialogue. Participants exchanged experiences from diverse contexts, building networks that extend across continents and will play a key role in sustaining cooperation on digital innovation.
For AFRALTI, hosting this programme reinforced its role as a regional hub for ICT excellence one that not only delivers world class training but also connects global expertise with Africa’s most pressing priorities. It demonstrated how research, capacity building, and collaboration converge to lay the foundation for a future where Africa’s digital growth is both sustainable and transformative.
