The World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report 2021 suggests that only 14 per cent of those working in cloud computing, 20 per cent of engineers, and 32 per cent of data and artificial intelligence professionals are women.

SAFER INTERNET DAY 2023

Over the years, Safer Internet Day has become a landmark event in the online safety calendar. From cyberbullying to social networking to digital identity, each year Safer Internet Day aims to raise awareness of emerging online issues and current concerns. This year AFRALTI marked the day by making it all about the internet users under the theme, “Want to talk about it? Making space for conversations online.” Read more

AFRALTI BECOMES AN ITU ACADEMY TRAINING CENTER SET TO ENHANCE DIGITAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT IN AFRICA
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) selected fourteen (14) organizations from around the world to join its new flagship ITU Academy Training Centres (ATC) programme. AFRALTI as a selected Centre will support ITU’s development priorities by strengthening capacity building and boosting technical ICT skills and proficiency, particularly in developing countries. AFRALTI BECOMES A PECB SILVER AUTHORIZED PARTNER
PECB is a personnel certification body which provides education and certification for individuals under ISO/IEC 17024 for a wide range of disciplines. PECB is accredited by a number of accreditation bodies, including The International Accreditation Service (IAS) and The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) for various certification schemes. In the last 3 years, PECB courses have gained popularity within AFRALTI trainings. Read more

AFRALTI DECLARED A WORLD SUMMIT ON THE INFORMATION SOCIETY (WSIS) 2023 CHAMPION ON ITS WOMEN ICT TRAINING & INNOVATION PROJECT
The WSIS Prizes 2023 is an exceptional international recognition of WSIS Stakeholders as Winners and Champions for their excellence in supporting the implementation of WSIS outcomes, WSIS Action Lines and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Read more

THE AFRALTI GOVERNING COUNCIL MEETS IN KENYA

The 65th Governing Council meeting of the African Advanced Level Telecommunications Institute (AFRALTI) took place from 13th to 17th March 2023 at the Ciala Resort in Kisumu, Kenya. The Republic of Kenya being the host took over the Chair of the Governing Council of AFRALTI for the year and was represented by the Communications Authority of Kenya. Read more
